EA released their weekly update yesterday ... this time, it's a winter theme: Jack Frost (he's a Giant SnowFlake??) and a Snowman (or a Winter Scarf) have come out to play.
As usual, the characters have a cheery, friendly look to them ... you can almost feel the holidays approaching ...
And the background of the game has changed again: it's now a pretty, pale blue again. I have to admit, I didn't really get into that whole autumn-themed background we've had all of the past month.
Oh, and there's one more change of note: dice rolls are cheaper, for a limited time.
The Platinum roll is the one that gives you 100x your roll in gold. This may not seem cheap at $9.99, but remember that just yesterday morning you'd have paid $19.99 for the same privilege.
I just came off a 24-hour workday - I am falling asleep as I type. Hope you're all having a great weekend!
Hi, this is a great blog! Thanks for all the info - I'm also obsessed with the game and I've got some useful tips from reading your posts.
ReplyDeleteI'm playing the UK version of the game which seems to be exactly the same other than the property names. Something weird happened to me yesterday... when I saw the 2 new rooms, I decided to buy the Giant Snowflake room straight away because it was only 19 million M$ and gave out something like 1 million M$ every 4 hours. When I went back into the game later in the day, I saw the price had changed to 3500 gold and it now gives out 167 million M$ every couple of days!!! The room is still building at the moment so I'll have to wait and see what happens, but I'm really hoping it will pay out the new amount! Like you, I don't pay real money for gold so I would never have had enough to pay 3500 gold for it. I don't know what happened but I'm very pleased about it!
Thanks for commenting, Becky! You see, I also had seen it at the M$19,000,000 price and was planning to buy it, but when I logged in again, I saw 3500 gold and thought I'd imagined it! Whee - thanks, I'm not going prematurely senile! :)
DeleteThere were actually a number of changes to both the Winter Scarf and Giant Snowflake room on Friday, and watched the whole thing unfold as if EA were some kind of bumbling elf who couldn't figure out which end to stick the carrot on the snowman... ugh, it was a bit of a mess from what I saw but on the good side, some people managed to get luck and snatch up a Snowflake room or two for the low low price of $19 mil - I got two myself ;)
DeleteI tracked all the changes (5 in total) with screenshots here:

Great blog by the way, just found it, and nice to see another MH blogger out there :)
Love your blog, too. I also picked up a bunch of Snowflake rooms at 19M, waiting to see how they pay off! I was wondering why a room that was originally supposed to pay off in 4.5 hours took 2 days to build.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're enjoying the blog! Of course, now I'm eternally going to be envious of all those who were smart enough to pick up the room as soon as it debuted. I was at work, planning to pick up a few in the evening. Oh, well ... procrastination certainly doesn't pay! :)
DeleteI will let you know how they end up paying! Just started painting them today for 0 dollars, which makes sense now that they are purchased with Gold. I paid about 12.6M to build them back on Friday.
ReplyDeleteHow many did you buy? I'm also envious... I wish I'd bought more than one!
DeleteI bought 13! I had over 400 million dollars and spent it all. 19 million for a 1.6 M payout in 4.5 hours sounded great, but 168 M is even better!
DeleteJust to close the loop with all you guys, the Giant Snowflake *did* pay out the 168+ Million!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you have that much money and gold
ReplyDeleteI don't even have 20,000 dollars and I only have273gold
I am only on level 30
