12 Days of Christmas: Day 5 update: New Winter Wonderland and The Man in the Red Suit stickers

Day 5 turns out to be more stickers. Winter themed again, of course.

Winter Wonderland pays out 1,440 gold, while The Man in the Red Suit pays out 20 gold and M$1,000.

The Winter Wonderland would be an easy one for anyone who picked up the Giant Snowflake at M$19,000,000: you need to build a Giant Snowflake, a Winter Scarf, and a Silver Snowflakes decoration, all in the same hotel ... at that price, the sticker reward of 1,440 gold is pure profit.

For anyone else, it's definitely negative return on this sticker unless you are building those two pricey rooms anyway. In my case, I already have a couple of Winter Scarf rooms ... they were great value even at the current price. But I think I will hold off on the Giant Snowflake and the Silver Snowflakes until there is a deeper discount.

The Man in the Red Suit is a fun one to collect: catch Jake in his Santa suit just 15 times to earn the 20 gold and M$1,000. Everyone should be able to do this one within the next week or so ... just catch Jake every time you log in. If you're logging in to collect rent, this should be a trivially easy one - you'll catch him as you just browse your hotels collecting rent!

Oh, and the early bonus was simply a background change, with all the hotels getting a little snowcap, and huge snowflakes hanging in the air ... I don't personally like the darker background, but I guess if Christmas lights are going to be one of the upcoming decorations, it'd make sense to have more of a twilight/night background against which the lights can twinkle brightly!

Enjoy the stickers - this is definitely getting more interesting as we get closer to Christmas.

  1. I'am not able to start my collection of man in red. Nothing happens when I press the start collection button. Any idea why?

    1. It seems to be yet another EA bug.

I've seen on the web that some people have resolved it by deleting and reinstalling the MH app.

However, if you do choose to go that route, I'd strongly advise you to first back up your game by syncing with iTunes, and also making sure you're logged in to Origin before you delete the game from your iOS device ... there have been way too many horror stories of people losing all the rooms in their hotels (myself included).

Check out Monopoly Hotels Community on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/MonopolyHotelsCommunity) - there are a bunch of people there who had the same issue with the sticker, and it seems to have been solved for them by deleting the game and then reinstalling it.

    1. LOL, indeed! Hope you've been collecting all the easy stickers (catch Jake, grab money falling, buy hotels!). In addition, the newest sticker is an easy 20 gold - catch Jake in his red suit just 15 times!

One thing I'm finding: people are very generous with their trains ... add a few FB friends who play MH and swap trains with them - there are always people on the MH FB page asking to please have more people add them so they can send out trains!
